Here's a story about how the UK police deal with assets seized from criminals; as well as the proceeds from auctioning off items that have been handed in as lost property - and never reclaimed.

We are still trying to follow up on a recent story about new procedures in China for the Olympic Games, and how the police will process lost property. We know the Chinese Police has the right to sell the items eventually. We just haven't been able to discover (yet) what then happens to the proceeds over there.
